  • Longform features, typically narratives, with a clear central chronology and main characters.
  • Feature-length essays with a focused argument and strong supporting evidence.
  • Stories for their business, science, gear, and service sections from freelancers.

  • The story should be a tale with a clear central chronology, main characters, and vivid scenes.
  • The narrative should convey its larger significance or importance.
  • The feature-length essays should have a focused through line and a clear argument.

Pitch Details

Length: 500 to 700 words.

Content: A clear indication of the story’s narrative arc, main characters, and larger implications.

Previous Work: Include a brief description of your previous work and links to long-form narrative pieces.

Authors retain the rights to their work, but WIRED requires prior written permission for any reproduction, distribution, or transmission of the material.
