The Purorrelato Micro-Story Contest 2025
We are pleased to announce that Casa Africa has launched the 11th edition of The Purorrelato Micro-Story Contest 2025. The theme is free, although the micro-stories should be related to Africa in some way. The story could take place inside or outside the continent and its degree of relation with Africa could range from a detail to the total protagonism of the story.
Guidelines of The Purorrelato Micro-Story Contest 2025
- Submitted micro-stories must be original, unpublished and must not have won a prize or be pending a decision in other contests or competitions.
- Secondly, participants must guarantee that there are no third-party rights over the micro-stories submitted and will be responsible for any claims that may be made in this respect.
- Additionally, all micro-stories could be submitted in Spanish, English, French or Portugueses, with a maximum length of 1500 characters (not words) including spaces and excluding the title.
- It is imported to note that stories received will be assessed by a jury composed of African and/or Spanish renowned experts in African literature.
- Entrants have a maximum of three micro-stories per author because they would be disqualified with anything more than three entries.
- Winners of the previous editions are excluded from participating.
- Applicants would need to grant the software MundoArti and the organizers of the call for proposals a limited, non-exclusive, irrevocable and free license to use certain intellectual property, including the name, acronym and the work in relation to the call for proposals.
Application process of The Purorrelato Micro-Story Contest 2025
- Download, fill in, sign and scan your application form.
- Save the generated PDF because you will need it to attach it on the platform.
- Have your micro-stories ready.
- Ensure you have a copy of your ID card or passport available.
- With all these documents ready, enter Mundo Arti (you will have to register if you have not done so before). If you have any problems when participating, please send an email to the organisers.
- Lastly, contestants would need to wait for the jury’s verdict.
Who May Enter The Contest?
The competition is free to anyone over the age of 18.
Entry Fee
Casa Africa has made The Purorrelato Micro-story Contest free to enter.
What Awards Do Contestants stand to win?
- First award: 750 euros
- Second award: 375 euros
- Third award: 225 euros
- In addition to the financial awards, Casa África may grant runners-up prizes or special mentions to authors whose texts are ranked between fourth and sixth place.
