The Northern Narratives Initiative for Emerging Writers in Northern Nigeria
The Northern Writers Forum (NWF) is now accepting applications for the Northern Narratives Initiative, a 3–5 month virtual mentorship and publishing program designed to amplify underrepresented voices from Northern Nigeria. With support from Open Arts World, this initiative offers early-career writers the chance to refine their craft and gain visibility through hands-on guidance and publication.
Applications are open now and will close on April 1, 2025.
About the Northern Narratives Initiative
The Northern Narratives Initiative nurtures literary talent through a mix of creative workshops, editorial mentorship, and digital publication. Selected participants will benefit from:
- Genre-Specific Creative Writing Workshops in Poetry, Fiction, and Creative Non-fiction
- One-on-One Mentorship with award-winning Nigerian writers
- Professional Editing and Publishing Support
- Visibility and Networking Opportunities within Nigeria’s literary scene
- Digital Micro Chapbook Publication of their final work
By the end of the program, every participant will have a polished chapbook published and ready to share with readers worldwide.
