The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) is offering Support for Artists Grants to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators who are residents of New York State.

Furthermore, NYSCA awarded more than $90 million in FY2023 to support artists and arts and cultural organizations! Our FY2023 Capital Projects Fund awarded $132.5 million in support for arts and cultural capital projects.

Eligibility for The Grant

  • Entry is free for applicants
  • More so, anyone applying should be a resident of New York.
  • The Deadline is July 17, 2024. Any submission after that will not be accepted.
  • Additionally, applicants must be sponsored by an eligible in-state nonprofit organization.

New York State Council on the Arts Support for Artists Grants

Submission Requirements

  • To apply, interested parties are required to include a writing Sample of up to 15 pages of poetry or prose.
  • Additionally, Include a résumé, personal statement, project proposal, and a copy of the letter of agreement between the artist and the sponsoring organization.
  • Also, for translators, submit a writing sample of poetry or prose in English along with the corresponding selection in the original language.
  • Furthermore, provide proof of permission to translate the work.

 

Grant

  • This annual grant provides a cash prize of $10,000 to support artists in their creative endeavors.
  • Additionally, it is important to note that FY25 Capital Projects Guidelines will be posted in September 2024, with an anticipated application deadline of January 2025
  • More so, funds creative commissions to individual artists across the state. Applicants must apply through a non-profit fiscal sponsor. NYSCA embraces the rich diversity of artmaking across New York, and applicants from all artistic practices and disciplines are encouraged to apply.
