The Mogford Literary Prize For Food and Drink

Prize: £7,500. Winning Story will be turned into audio for the Story Player

Deadline: 6th March, 2016

The Mogford literary prize invites stories up to 2,500 words which reflect the theme of food and drink.

This call  is for the fourth annual prize, and the £7,500 award will be presented during the FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival in April 2016.

According to the press release, “Food and Drink has to be at the heart of the tale. The story could, for instance, be fiction or fact about a chance meeting over a drink, a life-changing conversation over dinner, or a relationship explored through food and drink. It could be crime or intrigue; in fact any subject as long as it involves food and/or drink in some way.”

Entries should be submitted by email as a Word document to shortstoryprize@mogford.co.uk . Only one story per entrant is permitted. Entires must contain writer’s address and phone number.
