The Laura Kinsella Fellowship/ How to Apply (Prizes: £4000 + more)
One of the new awards that was launched by The National Centre for Writing (NCW) on Monday, the 25th of November, 2019.
The Laura Kinsella Fellowship will be awarded to one “exceptionally talented early career writer of fiction” who has been experiencing “limiting circumstances” or whose voice is one that is underrepresented in mainstream literary fiction.
The award, which is presented in collaboration with the Laura Kinsella Foundation, is worth £4000, and will also include programmes on professional development and promotional opportunities for the winning writer. The opportunities may include mentoring, residency, or research trips, and more.
The deadline for submission is Friday, 17th of January, 2020.
Who is Eligible to Apply:
- Writers who are more than 18 years old and who live in England at the time of application and until June 2021.
- Applicants must have no novel or story collection published.
- Applicants must be those who need support.
- There is no application fee.
How to Apply:
- A sample of your work that best demonstrates your talent; it must not exceed 2000 words.
- A supporting statement of not more than 250 words which should include: Your writing experience and achievements; your inspirations; and a description of the writing project you are currently working on.
