The Encore Awards Shortlist 2024
The Royal Society of Literature has announced the shortlist for the 2024 Encore Awards.
The Royal Society of Literature (RSL) is a UK-based charity for writers and readers. It is led by writers who believe that all literature matters. Part of its activities is working with schools and prisons because everyone should have access to books. The RSL provides writers at all stages of their careers with the tools and resources they need to write and also celebrates authors, one of which is through its annual awards, which has just announced the Encore Awards 2024 shortlist.
The Encore Award was first presented in 1990 to celebrate the achievement of outstanding second novels. The Award fills a niche in the catalogue of literary prizes. The RSL has administrated the award since 2016.
This year’s judges include; Fergal Keane, Malika Booker and Maura Dooley.
Without further ado, the Encore Awards 2024 shortlist are:
- A Spell of Good Things – Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀
- The Glutton – A. K. Blakemore
- Enter Ghost – Isabella Hammad
- Tell Me What I Am – Úna Mannion
- Ordinary Human Failings – Megan Nolan
The winner will be announced on 19 June and will be awarded with annual award of £15,000. Which of these authors are you rooting for?
