The Brunel International African Poetry Prize Releases Shortlist

Yayyyyyy! The Brunel International African Poetry Prize Shortlist Has Been Released!

The shortlist is for the 6th Brunel International African Poetry Prize- a major prize of £3000. The prize is for the promotion and development of poetry from Africa, and we are certainly excited about this.

The judges this year are the poets and academics: Malika Booker; Kwame Dawes (University of Nebraska); Diana Evans; Mahtem Shiferraw; and Chair and founder, Bernardine Evaristo (Brunel University London). With the fine quality of poets on the list, we certainly don’t wish to be them!

Below are the  shortlisted poets.

Gbenga Adeoba (Nigeria);

Hiwot Adilow (Ethiopia);

Michelle Angwenyi(Kenya);

Dalia Elhassan (Sudan);

Nour Kamel (Egypt);

Theresa Lola(Nigeria);
