The Brink Literary Journal Award for Hybrid Writing 2025 is a contest open for writers. Are you budding writer looking for opportunities to boost your credibility and your audience? Look no further because you would benefit from the opportunity covered in this blog!

The Brink is an in-print literary journal dedicated to publishing hybrid, cross-genre work of emerging and established creatives who often reside outside traditional artistic disciplines. Additionally, by providing space prime to instigate new ideas, Brink fosters dialogues and collaborative communities across disciplines and cultural divides.

Eligibility Requirements for The Brink Literary Journal Award for Hybrid Writing

• Applicants must not be a family member, colleague, or close friend of the Brink Literary Journal.
• Also, ensure that you have not previously published work in the Brink Literary Journal.
• Writers can submit up to 15 pages.
• Creatives can submit multiple works, but only one can be previously unpublished.
• Anonymous submission is allowed.
• You can submit your work simultaneously to other publications, but you must notify the Brink Literary Journal if it is accepted elsewhere.

Submissions Guidelines

• Submissions are open January 1, 2025 – February 28, 2025
• $25 non-refundable entry fee
• A limited number of fee waivers are available upon request.

Application Process for The Brink Literary Journal Award

• The contest is open to all writers and artists who identify their work as hybrid or cross-genre in nature.
• Submit up to 15 pages.
• One previously unpublished submission per entrant.
• Accordingly, all entries will be read anonymously. Before you submit, please remove your name and any other identifying information from your submission. Candidates will be contacted regarding their submission through Submittable, so please ensure your contact information is accurate.
• Family, colleagues, intimate friends, and contributors previously published in BrinkLiterary Journal are ineligible.
• Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Please notify us immediately if your submission is accepted elsewhere.

What  Prizes Will Winners Receive?

• $1,000
• Publication in the fall issue of Brink Literary Journal
• Four copies of the journal issue in which the winning submission appears.
