Shenandoah is Accepting Poetry Submissions/ How to Submit (Pays: $100)
Until the 15th of December, Shenandoah—a magazine that has being around for over six decades, and that has published works by the likes of Ezra Pound, William Faulkner, and Flannery O’Connor—is accepting submissions of poetry for their fall issue. The magazine, which is now published online semiannually, pays $100 per poem.
They want “what you consider your most urgent work”, and they want to hear from writers of all backgrounds, and especially from new writers.
Expect to hear from them after six or eight weeks of submitting; if they take longer than that time, it’s a good thing.
Who is Eligible to Submit:
- You are.
- There is no entry fee.
How to Submit:
- Submit a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 poems that you consider your most urgent work.
- All the poems should not exceed 10 pages.
- The poetry editor is Lesley Wheeler, address your cover letter to her.
- Submit here.
- The deadline for submissions is the 15th of December, 2019.
Payment:
- The magazine pays $100 per poem.
