Shady Grove Flash Fiction Competition/ How To Submit (Prize: $100)
Shady Grove Literary competition runs every three months, with the submissions period closing on the last day of March, June, September, and December.
It is a flash fiction competition for stories with the 300 word maximum count. If you are an interested writer, please follow the guidelines to submit for the competition.

Submission Guidelines For Shady Grove Literary
- The maximum word count for your literary piece should be not more than 300 words.
- You should submit one literary piece per competition. They do not want reprints or multiple submissions per one person so, please limit yourself to one submission per email until after the competition.
- Your work can be of any style, genre, tone, etc of flash fiction.
- They only accept works that have not been previously published.
- Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please let them know if your work is selected elsewhere.
- Email your entry to shadygroveliterary@gmail.com with ‘flash fiction competition’ as your subject line.
- Paste the body of your entry at the top of your email with a title (if you have one). They will not open attachments, and stories that are submitted as attachments will not be considered.
- Please include your name, contact, and a brief bio below the story.
- They might take a few weeks to review your submission but you can be assured that they will read it.
- There is no entry fee. Submissions are free, and will be read, but please do not inquire about submitted work.

Prize
The prizes for the winners are as follows:
- First Prize: you will be given an award of $100.
- Second prize: your work will be published online and Honorable Mentions will be listed.
- Third prize: your work will also be published online and Honorable Mentions will be listed.
