Furthermore , This offers writers an opportunity to participate in a great residency experience from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, at The Jamun in Bangalore, India.

Residency Details for Sangam House Season 17

  • Residencies will be granted in one-month cohorts. From November 1-30, December 1-31, and January 1-31, with the possibility of shorter residencies.
  • Also, the residency provides writers with a conducive environment to immerse themselves in their creative projects. And engage with a vibrant literary community.

Submission Guidelines

To apply for Sangam House Season 17, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • 1. Required Documents
    A brief statement (maximum 2 pages). Detailing your work history, including publications, performances, and writing credits. And this can be submitted in CV format.
  • Additionally, include a one-page description of the work you plan to undertake during your residency at Sangam House.
  • Furthermore, a writing sample, not exceeding 50 pages should be included. Please indicate if the writing is published or unpublished.
  • Cover Letter Information: In addition, the “Cover Letter” field, should  provide the following details:
  • – Date of Birth
  • – Nationality
  • – Country of Residency
  • – The language in which you write
  • – Your preferred residency dates, with first and second preferences.
  • 3. Letter of Recommendation:
    More so, arrange to have a letter of recommendation submitted by a fellow writer, teacher, editor, literary agent, or informed individual. Someone who can speak to your character and work.
  • More importantly, the letter should be uploaded directly by the referee, not by the applicant.

Important Dates

– All application materials must be received electronically by the end of the day on June 30, 2024. Therefore, this includes the cover letter, work history, project description, and work sample.
– In addition, Letters of Recommendation must be received by the end of the day on July 11, 2024.
– Also, Notification for all selection decisions will be provided by August 15, 2024.

Also, do note that : The writing sample does not have to be an English translation; please submit it in your mother tongue. All other documentation must be in English.
