Room/ How to Submit (Payment: $150)

Founded in 1975, Room considers original works of poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction and art by women (cisgender or transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people. The magazine pays as much as a $150 for each accepted piece. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2020.

Who is Eligible:

  • Writers/ artists who identify as women (cisgender or transgender), trans men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people, from anywhere in the world.
  • There is no submission fee.

How to Submit:

  • Send an original short story or creative nonfiction of not more 3500 words.
  • Or a pack of five unpublished poems.
  • Both poetry and prose submissions should be submitted in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font.
  • For arts, you can submit up to five images.
  • In your cover letter, mention if the submission is a simultaneous submission.
  • Submit here.
  • The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2020.

Payment:

  • Room pays $50 CAD for a single page, $60 for two pages, $90 for three, $120 for four, and $150 for five or more pages.
