Room/ How to Submit (Payment: $150)
Founded in 1975, Room considers original works of poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction and art by women (cisgender or transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people. The magazine pays as much as a $150 for each accepted piece. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2020.
Who is Eligible:
- Writers/ artists who identify as women (cisgender or transgender), trans men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people, from anywhere in the world.
- There is no submission fee.
How to Submit:
- Send an original short story or creative nonfiction of not more 3500 words.
- Or a pack of five unpublished poems.
- Both poetry and prose submissions should be submitted in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font.
- For arts, you can submit up to five images.
- In your cover letter, mention if the submission is a simultaneous submission.
- Submit here.
- The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2020.
Payment:
- Room pays $50 CAD for a single page, $60 for two pages, $90 for three, $120 for four, and $150 for five or more pages.
