NATIONAL YOUTH ESSAY COMPETITION, 2011

 The Nigerian Orientation Agency calls for essays from all Nigerian youths below the age of 30. The aim of the essay competition is to reawaken in the Nigerian youth, the core value of patriotism and grant them the opportunity to participate in policy-making and decision-making process,
The essay competition is themed;Strategies for Taking the Benefits of Oil Subsidy to the Highest Number of Nigerians”
Entries must consist of original, thoroughly researched work on the above topic. Essays must show clarity of thoughts as well as a deep sense of innovation.  Essays should also proffer practical suggestions and directions for implementation.
Deadline of submission is: 4:00 pm, December 9, 2011
First Prize: A laptop Computer, N5OO, OOO cash and Certificate of Participation.
Second Prize: A laptop Computer, N25O, OOO cash and Certificate of Participation.
Third Prize: A laptop Computer, N15O, OOO cash and Certificate of Participation.
Ten (10) Consolation Prizes: N50, 000 each and Certificate of Participation
Submitted essays must come in four parts:
(a) Title Page
(b) Body of work (minimum of 800 words, maximum of 1000)
(e) Bibliography
(d) Contestant’s biography (must include the contestant’s name, address, telephone number and email address)
Word limit excludes the title page and the biography.
The title page, body of work, bibliography and contestant’s biography must be written on separate pages. No reference to the writer’s biography should appear on the actual body of work (actual essay).
Essays must have font size 12-14; and must be double-spaced.
Entries will be judged based on: accuracy of information, clarity of thought, organization of theme, grammar and spelling, and documentation.
