@LoveAfricaPress Is Calling For Submissions For Its Vallentine’s Day Anthology 2019

Writers are invited to submit short stories which will be published in the Love Africa™ Valentine Collections. If , like most writers, you are interested in sharing your stories with the world, they you should send in something. Who knows? You story might be featured in the Love Africa Anthology slated to be published in February 2019.

Rules and Guidelines::

  • Contemporary, Historical, Suspense or Women’s Fiction with strong romantic elements. Not sure about how romance novels or stories should be written? Read our romance-fiction writing guide .

  • At least one of the lead characters has to be of African decent. Feel free to write about characters on the LGBTQ spectrum.

  • Interracial stories are fine. However, you must resist the temptation to write ‘white saviour’ trope stories.

  • All stories must be set mainly in Africa. They will not accept fantasy or made-up African locations. Use real places.

  • Word count: 10,000 to 20,000 words

  • Heat level: sweet to spicy

  • As is expected of all traditional love stories, yours should have a happy ending. It could be ‘Happy For Now’ or ‘Happy Ever After’.

  • Looking for romance story ideas, we have some on our list of unique story ideas. Alternatively, you can get inspiration from the Ankara Press titles. They are available for a quick download on Okadabooks.

How To Submit Your Story?

  • First, format your manuscript. Make sure it’s a .doc, .docx, or .rtf.
  • Font should be 12’Times New Roman and double-spaced
