Green Stories Competition 2020 (£700 + Mentorship) / How to Submit

Green Stories has recently announced the extension of the deadline for their “General Competition”. This category is for stories written for adult audiences.

For this particular category, they are open to receiving full length novels for adults, that in some way discuss ideas on building a substantial society. The deadline for this competition is now 2nd July, 2020.

They shall consider all genres under Fiction – Literary Fiction, Rom-Com, Sci-fi, Mystery, Crime, etc. but they emphasize that the story must include something that would engage the idea of a substantial society. This seems to be a requisite theme for novels to be considered.

The guidelines to submit are:

1. The length of your novel should be 50,000 – 100,000 words. However, you are to submit only the first 10,000 words, or the first three chapters.

2. With the first chapters/10,000 words of your novel, include a one page synopsis.

3. Do not send in your first drafts. Make sure to edit your work properly before sending in.

Prizes:

Green Stories has promised that there would be prizes to be won.

The winner would receive £500, the first runner up would receive £100 and the third would receive £50.

An additional £50 would be given to a student who submits an outstanding entry.

Eligibility:

The contest is open to all, as long as your entry has not been published elsewhere. All submissions must be in English and must have the theme requested by Greenstories.

Helping you achieve success:

The company is in agreement with a literary agent, who would mentor the winner, in a one on one meeting, or a virtual meeting.

Remember, the deadline is on the 2nd of July, 2020. Do not miss this.

Good luck!
