Escape, Learn, Explore, Create: Apply For The Iceland Writers Retreat

Registration for the fifth Iceland Writers Retreat (11-15 April, 2018) opened on  Tuesday, 4 July. The cost to attend without accommodation is ISK 208,000 and with accommodation (at the Retreat venue) it’s ISK 299,000. You can find all the details on what is included in the price here – there’s a helpful currency calculator there too. Anyone is welcome to attend the Iceland Writers Retreat, but spots fill on a first come, first served basis.

Three great writers will be at the faculty for 2018:

  • Terry Fallis is a two-time winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, and won the CBC’s Canada Reads competition in 2011.
  • Pamela Paul is the editor of The New York Times Book Review and the author of several books.
  • Susan Shreve is the author of fourteen novels, professor of English at George Mason University and Chairman of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation.

Over the course of the retreat, each participant is enrolled in a total of five two-hour small-group writing workshops (max. 15 participants) led by internationally acclaimed authors, a Q&A panel with all faculty, and numerous readings and social functions.

Each of our Featured Authors teaches two different workshops, and you have plenty of time to interact with faculty, including those with whom you do not have any workshops.

You can read more about these writers here.
