Author Rights At Cross Country Skier Magazine

The Magazine generally follows the National Writers Union Standard Journalism Contract.

While the magazine welcomes all pitches, they take no responsibility for unsolicited submissions.

They reserve the right to pay less or reject manuscripts if they do not meet the publication’s standards.

Payment

The standard payment rate for written submissions is $0.25 per word.

However, the payment may be reduced or the manuscript rejected if the content does not meet the required standards. 

For photography submissions, payment is determined based on placement:

– Cover: $400

– Spread: $200

– Full page: $100

– Half page: $50

– Spot: $25

Photo Submission Guidelines

• Photographers must submit images that capture the sport, lifestyle, and culture of cross-country skiing.

• All digital submissions should be in .DNG format with a preview JPEG. Metadata (photographer’s name, athlete name, location, and contact info) should be embedded in the files.

• Photos should be named using the format: [FirstInitial] [Last name]_123.jpg (e.g., MLorenz_123.jpg). Submissions must be sent via WeTransfer.com to photo@crosscountryskier.com.
