Clumsy Spider Publishing/ Calls for Submission ($80 + Publication)

Clumsy Spider Publishing began with a goal and a target. Since the commercial victory of The Harry Potter Series (1997-2007), the publication world has been targeting adults (especially middle-aged women) with their “Young Adult” titles. This company’s goal is to publish authors who are genuinely writing for a young audience.

For its 2022 submission window, Clumsy Spider Publishing anticipate as many writers as possible. To use their creativity to write a story for any audience.

Submission Guidelines for Clumsy Spider Publishing

  • Your story should be accessible to most teens, not just the avid readers.
  • You must submit anonymously.
  • Submit early. Submissions will be capped at 300.
  • Your story must be edited. If your story needs proofreading and revision, it will be rejected.
  • If published on clumsy Spider, your work will be fully available to readers to see for free. The publisher will however have no rights to your work. It’s yours and if you choose to have it taken down at any time they will abide by your wishes. It is their hope that acceptance on their site will help you on your way to a traditional publishing deal.
  • As part of the commitment to judge your writing without prejudice please do NOT provide a bio, resume, or any sort of additional information. The publisher does not want to know your experience, age, gender, race, or anything else about you until your piece is accepted.
Your submission should be as anonymous as possible. Please remove any identifiers from your work.
  • You should not identify a genre for your story. Where it “fits” can be a discussion if your piece is selected. Please do not forget that this site is for writers of material for youth–middle grades through new adult.
Winner will be selected on or before July 30, 2022. Don’t forget to check your email regularly.
  • Submit in the clumsy website
