Cast Of Wonders International Flash Fiction Contest—Apply (Publication + Cash Prize)

Cast Of Wonders is a speculative fiction podcast and a Young Adult magazine. This wonderful magazine is hosting a free-to-enter flash fiction contest. All you have to do is send in a 500-word story and you could win the $30 cash award and get your story published in this fantastic literary journal.

Deadline: 30th September 2018.

So start writing. After all, it’s just five hundred words. If you already have a very short story in your portfolio, now you know where to send it. Just make sure the story is capable of evoking a sense of wonder in a Young Adult audience of 12+. No explicit sex scenes or violence, though.

Send only original previously unpublished stories

Send one story per person

No need to anonymize contest submissions

send only sophisticated, non-condescending stories with wide appeal. No explicit sex, violence or pervasive obscene language.

Writers who have longer stories can submit them to their general submissions page. They pay 6 cents per word, for stories up to 6,000 words.  Do the math. This means you could earn up to $360 for each published story.
