Would you like to join the more than 100 passionate readers and writers who will help make the 2012 PEN Festival possible?
PEN American Center is currently seeking volunteers for the 2012 World Voices Festival of International Literature, which will be held Monday, April 30 to Sunday, May 6
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer, please write to the PEN Festival Volunteer Coordinator, Jasmine Davey, at jasmine@pen.org responding to the following:

  • The day(s) with times of the Festival (April 30-May 6) that you are available. Please also let us know the number of days you would like to volunteer.
  • Complete contact information (email address, phone numbers, and postal address).
  • Which orientation session you’d like to attend: Tuesday, April 17; Wednesday, April 18; or Monday April 23. The orientation sessions will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at PEN’s office at 588 Broadway, between Prince and Houston, Suite 303.
Deadline for responses: April 16, 2012
This eighth annual celebration of the power of the written word will challenge audiences to engage with literature in creative and unexpected ways. In addition to panels, lectures, readings, and one-on-one conversations with such writers as Martin Amis, Jennifer Egan, Aleksandar Hemon, Herta Müller, Luc Sante, Marjane Satrapi, and Ludmila Ulitskaya, among others, the Festival will feature unique collaborations with organizations like the Kronos Quartet, the Elevator Repair Service, and Processional Arts Workshop.
Volunteering at the Festival will give you a chance to meet and work with intelligent people. There will also be a chance to learn how world-class public programs are organized and to support the PEN’s mission.
