Call For Submissions: Birth of the White House Cool: Reflections on the Obama Years

Booth Books is currently asking for submissions for a new collection of work entitled “Birth of the White House Cool: Reflections on the Obama Years.”

They are seeking submissions of literature, art, and graphic narratives that consider the impact of the Obama family on the past decade of American culture. They especially prefer “essays and poems that explore moments that enrich our understanding of the president’s relationship to modern culture, our understanding of race and politics, and/or our understanding of how “cool” can exist inside of institutional frameworks. ”

You can visit their website via boothbooks.org and submissions can be sent via Submittable at https://boothbooks.submittable.com/submit. Please also see the attached flyer for more details.

All inquiries should be directed to Samantha via svorwald@butler.edu
