Random House Books’ Hydra Calls For Manuscripts
Are you a writer with major interest in science fiction, fantasy or horror categories? Come on board! Random house’s only digital imprint, ‘Hydra’ is calling for submissions in the science fiction, fantasy, and horror categories.
About Random House
Random House was founded in 1927 when, two years after purchasing The Modern Library line of literary classics, Bennett Cerf and Donald Klopfer decided to publish other books “at random.” With a distinguished history of publishing award-winning and bestselling books, Random House’s list of authors includes Norman Mailer, Truman Capote, Laura Hillenbrand, Maya Angelou, Jon Meacham, William Faulkner, David Mitchell, Anna Quindlen, Elizabeth Strout, Salman Rushdie, and George Saunders.
Eligibility
1. There is no strict word count limit for submissions. We are interested in full-length works (40,000 words or more).
2. You may present any manuscript in which you control exclusive copyright. We are open to previously-published manuscripts as long as the submitting author now controls all electronic and print publishing rights.
How to apply
1. Please submit the entire query by clicking this link http://www.randomhousebooks.com/hydra/ (scroll to the end of the page for the form)
2. If we are interested in considering your full manuscript, you will be contacted with further submission instructions. We make every effort to respond to submission inquiries within 2-4 weeks after submission of the query form.
Please do not resubmit previously submitted queries, as this may create delays.
Good luck.
