Apply for the Delaware Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellowships

 

The Delaware Division of the Arts is now accepting applications for the Individual Artist Fellowships, offering substantial support to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers residing in Delaware.

These fellowships aim to recognize and nurture the artistic talent within the state, providing both financial assistance and opportunities for career development.

 

Fellowship Categories and Details

Two types of fellowships are available:

1. Each fellowship offers $8,000 to artists who have demonstrated a significant body of work and a commitment to their craft.
2. In addition, it also fellowship offers $5,000 to artists who are at an earlier stage in their careers but show exceptional promise.

At least four fellowships will be awarded annually. To be eligible, applicants must have lived in Delaware for at least one year prior to the application deadline.

Eligibility and Submission Guidelines

Applicants are required to use the online submission system and provide the following materials by August 1, 2024:

  • Writing Sample: 15 to 20 pages of poetry or prose.
  • Résumé: Detailed account of the applicant’s professional achievements and experiences.
  • Artist’s Statement: A personal reflection on the artist’s work, vision, and goals.
