Antelope Hill Annual Writing Competition/ How to Submit (Prize: $1,000 + More)

Antelope Hill Publishing wishes to express the stories and help build the culture that will pave the way to a better tomorrow through its annual writing competition.

Because of this, Antelope Hill Publishing is launching the third annual writing competition to gather this material and later to publish the very best of it in print form. They will be accepting submissions from midnight of March 15th to midnight of April 30th (EST).

Eligibility

  • Entry is free
  • Submissions are open for poetry and short stories.
  • Anyone from anywhere can apply. There is no restriction on nationality.
  • Age 18 upwards

Submission Guidelines for Antelope Hill Annual Writing Competition.

  • Two submission categories: Poetry (of any style) and Short Story (fiction)
  • No work will be reviewed until submissions are closed.
  • Depending on the volume of content received, they will take approximately one month to come to a decision regarding the winners.
  • Entrants are reminded to only submit work that already meets the high standard of Antelope Hill Publishing, and to keep submissions to an absolute maximum of 5,000 words.
  • Edit your work before submitting.
  • The theme is “Touch Grass.”
  • They actively seek stories and poems about the importance of real-life experiences contradicting to spending time online. The Internet has its benefits, but we must not forget our roots in real-life interpersonal relationships. Prompts can be about forging strong bonds, in trailblazing political organization, reconnecting with old friends, or even appreciating the beauty of nature. The prompt is not limited to these ideas; the organizers of the contest wishes to keep the topic broad so as to encourage a wide array of ideas. And life is full of ups and downs, so the mood need not be limited to only triumph, but can also cover struggle, pensiveness, and heartbreak. Just make it natural.
