Calling all Romance Lovers for the Debut African Romance Convention

Get ready to celebrate love like never before! Afro Romcon, Lagos’ first-ever romance convention, will take place on March 15, 2025. It will bring together the best of African romance in literature and film. The theme for this edition is “Romance Through the African Lens.”


From bestselling authors like Adesuwa O’Man Nwokedi, author of The Marriage Class and No Perfect Love, and Tomilola Coco Adeyemo, author of A Very Gidi Christmas, to Zainab Imam Uche, author of Love, Lagos & Other Complications, Afro Romcon is a first-of-its-kind event designed for romance lovers, storytellers, and industry professionals.


The event will also feature:

  • Nosa Isibor, screenwriter of the YouTube hit The Boy Before Me,
  • Ufuoma Bakporhe, screenwriter of The Beauty of Broken Things,
  • Modupe Daramola, founder of Noisy Streetss,
  • Jesimiel Williams, writer and storyteller,
