Bat City Review/ How to Submit

Bat City Review is currently open for submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, hybrid pieces, and art. The magazine, founded in 2004, is devoted to supporting new and established writers. They have published so many amazing writers, including: James Tate, Patricia Lockwood, Terrance Hayes, Tracy K. Smith, C.K. Williams, Anthony Doerr, among other writers.

The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2020.

Who is Eligible to Submit to Bat City Review:

  • Writers from anywhere in the world.
  • There is no submission fee.

How to Submit to Bat City Review:

  • Submit a short story of up to 6000 words. 
  • Or a piece of creative nonfiction that does not exceed 5000 words.
  • Or a packet of between 3 and 5 poems.
  • The submitted work must be original.
  • Simultaneous submissions are considered.
  • Translations will be considered, but make sure to include the original and a note showing that you have secured permission from the copyright holder.
  • The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2020.
