We bring you good news, The Deborah Rogers Foundation Writers Award 2025 is now open. The competition is open to writers who have not previously published or self-published a full-length book of prose. The competition deadline is on the 31st of March, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements of The Deborah Rogers Foundation Writers Award 2025
- Accordingly, applications are open to writers who have not previously published a full-length book of their own prose writing (including self-published or published on-line) excluding a collection of their own poetry. They may have published short prose writing within a magazine/anthology.
- Aspiring contestants must reside within the British Commonwealth or Eire.
- Meanwhile, applicants who submitted work for the DRF Writers Award previously may re-apply but the work submitted must be new.
Guidelines of The DRF Writers Award 2025
- First and foremost, all submissions should take the form of 15,000-20,000 words of a work in progress, fiction or non-fiction, which is not under option or contract.
- Secondly, applicants may not be under contract to any publisher for any work or title in any language.
- Significantly, entrants must write in the English language.
- Your submission should be accompanied with a brief synopsis and biographical note.
- If your submission is on the longlist you will be notified by email. The shortlist and Award announcement dates will be confirmed shortly.
How to Apply for The DRF Award 2025
- Generally, interested applicants should fill and submit the application form.
- Please do not submit more than one application because multiple or duplicate applications will be ignored.
- Once you start your submission you may save and return to complete it later should you wish.
- It is important that your submission can be read anonymously. Therefore, do not include your name.
- Please label your document clearly: TITLENAME_AUTHORNAME

Award for The Winners
- £10,000 will be presented to a first-time writer whose submission demonstrates outstanding literary talent and who needs financial support to complete their work.
- The two runners-up will each receive £1,000.
