In honor of Barbara Deming’s legacy, the Money for Women Fund continues to support creative women in the arts. Established in 1975, this fund provides financial and moral support to feminist women writers and visual artists.

Eligibility For The Money For Women Fund
To apply, you must:
– Be a feminist woman writer or visual artist (cis, transgender, or nonbinary)
– Reside primarily in the US or Canada
– Demonstrate high-quality and original work
– Use feminism as your central interpretive lens
– Value personal and political changes promoting freedom and agency for women
– Validate differences intersecting with gender (race, ethnicity, class)
Application Guidelines
Submit the following materials via Submittable:
– Project description (max. 400 words)
– Budget (sample budgets available)
– Description explaining why you’re applying to a feminist fund (max. 100 words)
– Resume (max. 2 pages)
– Project samples (specific requirements vary by genre)

– January 1-31, 2025, for Nonfiction and Poetry
– $25 application fee (limited fee waivers available)
– January 1 – January 31, 2026, for Visual Art and Fiction. All applications accepted via Submittable. Please click the link below to submit to our online application. These applications have a $25 fee, payable by credit card.
