CALL FOR PAPERS: Youth Ministerial Meeting
Would you like to join the five young delegates who will be presenting papers on five issues of societal interest in Nigeria?
Ugreen is currently seeking volunteers for the2012 International Youth Day commemoration,which will be holding August 2012.
If you are a young person between the ages of 18 – 35, and will want to serve as a ministerial delegate in the platform, then submit – as an attachment to ugreen07@yahoo.com– a 10-page paper addressing any of the issues listed below:
1. Entrepreneurship development in Nigeria: Lessons Young People Must Learn to be able to build a successful life.
2. The rise in terrorism in Nigeria, what roles do young people have to play to curb the menace.
3. Good governance: Antidote to high rate of poverty in Africa.
4. Is there a need for a more concrete marriage between formal and informal education to uplift human development?
5. Has Nigerian government since 1999 done enough in areas of attitudinal change and national orientation? If not, what areas do they need to improve and what other innovations do they need to adopt?
Deadline for responses: August 10, 2012
Each paper must have a cover page bearing the name of the presenter, email, physical address, phone number and a brief bio (not more than 100 words).
Submissions must be typed in Times New Roman, Font 12, double-spaced and emailed as an attachment to ugreen07@yahoo.com.
Selected delegates shall be announced on www.ugreenfoundation.org, on August 12, 2012.
Selected delegates to be invited to attend a ministerial meeting to be organised by Ugreen Foundation in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. (Ugreen Foundation will make arrangements for accommodation, feeding and transportation).
100 young people, selected from various sectors will be invited to attend as guests. Civil servants, youth and women leaders, and members of the Ebonyi State Executive Council will be attending. Religious leaders, students, teachers and lecturers will also be present at this prestigious meeting.
Date and Venue for the ministerial will be announced before 10th of August, 2012.
