Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie bags The 2019 Ev Rogers Award
Our Literary Queen, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has won the 2019 Ev Rogers Award in the honour of the late professor, Everette whose Diffusion of Innovation is the second-most cited book in the social sciences. She is being honoured for “reframing the discourse on race, gender and identity.”
“Her voice and her power to inspire made Chimamanda Adichie the unanimous choice for the 2019 Rogers Award,” – USC Annenberg School Dean Willow Bay.
We are so so proud of her. Our Queen also on September 27th, received the Special Distinction for Thought Leadership Award during the 2018 Annual Awards dinner of the Global Hope Coalition in New York City.
But Ms. Adichie’s isn’t a stranger to receiving awards. Her first novel, “Purple Hibiscus” won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. In 2007, she won the Orange Broadband Prize: Fiction Category for “Half of A Yellow Sun” ,Her 2013 novel “Americanah” won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was named one of The New York Times’ Top Ten Best Books of 2013. Her work has been translated into over 30 languages.
She was also named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2015 – which isn’t surprising at all. In 2017, Fortune magazine named her one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders.
We are so proud of her and hope she’ll continue to bag more awards in the future.
