E.C Osondu Now Contributing Editor Of AGNI
It’s always a joy to see Nigerian writers excelling in their literary endeavors.
I’m a big rosy fan of E.C Osondu’s short stories. I really am. If you haven’t read any, I’ll recommend Debriefing and Waiting. His story “Waiting” won the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2009, for which he had been a finalist in 2007 with his story “Jimmy Carter’s Eyes”.
When E.C. Osondu announced his new position as Contributing Editor of AGNI, my heart leaped for joy. And many of his fan congratulated him as well. The management of the prestigious literary journal, AGNI, also welcomed him.
“We’re proud to announce EC Osondu as AGNI’s newest contributing editor. E. C.’s first and second published stories appeared in AGNI in 2006, three years before he won the prestigious Caine Prize for African Writing. In 2010, E. C. coedited, with William Pierce, the AGNI Portfolio of African Fiction. He has published one story collection, Voice of America, and an acclaimed debut novel, This House Is Not for Sale. Welcome!”
E.C Osondu is a previous winner of the Allen and Nirelle Galso Prize for Fiction and his story “A Letter from Home” was judged one of “The Top Ten Stories on the Internet” in 2006.
Osondu’s writing has been published in Agni, Guernica, Vice, Fiction, and The Atlantic. His debut collection of short stories, Voice of America, was published in 2010. His second short story collection, This House is Not For Sale was published last year.
Congratulations to E.C. Osondu.
