Canex Book Factory Creative Writing Workshop Calls for Application
Calling All Prose Writers of African and Caribbean Descent to apply for the CANEX BOOK FACTORY CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
In collaboration with James and Grace Adichie Foundation, owned by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Narrative Landscape, CANEX will host a book factory’s creative writing workshop in Ghana.
This workshop is dedicated to the art of prose and aims to support and develop literary talent within Africa and the Caribbean.
Workshop Overview
- The Workshop will feature a ten-day residential program, running from 12-22 August 2024.
- Additionally, an extra session will take place from 15-30 June 2024. This provides more opportunities for participants to grow their creative writing skills.

Workshop Details:
Hosted in a supportive and collaborative environment, the workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced writers and industry professionals such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
More so, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will lead a team of writers who will facilitate the workshop. Alongside legal and business professionals who will provide valuable insights into the legal and commercial aspects of the writing profession. Workshop participants will have the chance to contribute to an anthology of writing that will be published after of the workshop.
How to Apply
- Prose writers of African and Caribbean descent are encouraged to submit their applications between 15-30 June 2024.
- Applications will include a statement of purpose, and a 500-word writing sample.
