Guideposts is a magazine dedicated to sharing inspirational stories about people who have achieved a goal, overcome an obstacle, or learned a valuable lesson through their faith. 

Share your true story of hope and inspiration for a chance to have it published in Guideposts, one of their other magazines, or on their website. What to Include in Your Story:

• The story should center on one individual, narrated from the perspective of the person most impacted by the experience.

• Concentrate on a single event rather than a comprehensive life story.

• Include only the characters necessary to tell the story effectively and eloquently.

• Provide all relevant details to help the reader understand the context and events.

• Make the reader feel present by vividly describing characters, dialogue, and emotions.

• Highlight the positive transformation in the narrator and convey a message or insight that readers can apply to their own lives.

• Full-length stories should be about 1,500 words.

What Guideposts Magazine Wants

Guideposts is looking for true stories that:

• Illustrate a personal achievement, obstacle overcome, or lesson learned through faith.

• Are first-person narratives with a clear spiritual point.

• Can inspire and provide practical lessons for readers.

What They Don’t Want

• Book-length material.

Eligibility Criteria For Guideposts Magazine 

• Stories can be about your own experiences or someone else’s, but must be true and centered on a personal, impactful event.
