2025 Counter Histories Fellowship / How to Apply (Up to $10,000)
Magnum Foundation invites photographers to apply for the 2025 Counter Histories Fellowship, supporting projects reframing the past to engage with urgent questions of the present and future.
Launched in 2018, Counter Histories elevates suppressed histories, reframes dominant narratives, and challenges power structures embedded in archives. Also, This initiative explores creative possibilities in historical inquiry and photographic storytelling, offering alternative narratives.
Fellowship Details
- Grant: $10,000
- Virtual fellowship: April 1, 2025 – November 31, 2025
- 25-30 hours of virtual programming
- Discretionary funds: up to $1,000
- Eight-month project development workshops
