Brittle Paper 2023 Festive Anthology Call for Submissions

Brittlepaper is thrilled to announce the 2023 submission call for our annual festive anthology at Brittle Paper. The first volume, “HomeGrown Joy,” was a delightful close to 2022 in the realm of literature.

As we approach 2023, they are determined to make it equally memorable! The festive season is a time to cherish the highlights of the past months, to revel in the company of loved ones, and to set our sights on the future with gleaming aspirations. Brittle Paper is committed to preserving the tradition of reflecting on these cherished moments with our literary community. This year, they present an engaging ‘festive trio challenge’ to all you talented writers. The theme for our second volume is “Recipes, Rituals & Resolutions.”

As such, you are cordially invited to submit your poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and essays that revolve around recipes, rituals, and resolutions during any festive holiday. If you have a beloved recipe with an enthralling story behind it, a cherished ritual close to your heart, or a New Year’s resolution, they urge you to articulate your thoughts and share them with us!

Eligibility for Brittle Paper Festive Anthology

  • To be eligible, participants must be African writers, including those of African descent, irrespective of their current place of residence or nationality.
  • Also, there is no entry fee

 

Brittle Paper Call for Submissions

Submission Details

  • – Submissions are now open, and they welcome your creative works until November 24, 2023
  •  Please send your submission via email to: submissions@brittlepaper.com
  •  In the email subject heading, please inscribe: “Festive Anthology Submission.”
  • Kindly include an author picture and a brief biography to introduce yourself.
  • Each submission should be a single piece of original and unpublished work, but don’t hesitate to explore simultaneous submissions.
  • Ensure that your submissions are in Word format.
  • The word limit for poetry submissions is 500 words.
  • More so, for non-fiction and essay submissions, they kindly request adherence to a 3,500-word limit.
    – Following the submission deadline, our diligent selection process will commence.
  • So, prepare your thoughts and start composing your vivid expressions, for we look forward to receiving your unique and engaging creations!
  • Also, please note that entries are not confined to Christmas and are open to exploration of diverse forms of festive celebrations.
