Very few people seem immortal to me. Chinua Achebe is one of them. I still cannot believe that he has passed on.
May his soul rest in peace.
What was your first reaction when you heard that he had died?
Well, my first thought was: That was certainly one soul that did not die unsung!
He was a phenomenal; human being and the challenge he has left for us as writers is so enormous that I am scared if we will ever be able to come close to his standards. I pray his soul finds its way home
Iquo, you've spoken the truth. The man lived his life to the fullest.
Richard Ali said, "Utter shock, my sister. I stopped in the centre of Wuse Abuja. The news was broken to me by a journalist ironically seeking confirmation. One never thought of Achebe as being old."
